1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Hint ("we," "us," or "our") services, including our website, mobile application (currently available on iOS), and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

Hint is a social connection platform that enables users to share physical cards with people they're interested in. Recipients can scan these cards to access a secure, private link to the giver's profile and initiate communication if they choose. The Service is designed to facilitate genuine, consent-based connections in a low-pressure environment.

Current Availability: Hint is currently available on iOS. Android and Web versions are in development and will be available in the future.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
  • You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
  • You have not been previously banned from using the Service

4. User Accounts and Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws

  • Post, upload, or transmit any content that is illegal, harmful, offensive, or violates others' rights
  • Spam, solicit, or send unsolicited communications
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you post, upload, or share through the Service ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the right to post the User Content
  • Your User Content does not violate any third-party rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, etc.)
  • Your User Content complies with these Terms and applicable laws

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we determine is harmful, offensive, or inappropriate.

7. Privacy and Consent

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

Hint is built with privacy and consent at its core. All interactions are voluntary, and users can block or report inappropriate behavior at any time.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by Hint and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without our prior written consent.

9. Prohibited Conduct and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in any conduct that we determine is harmful to other users, the Service, or our reputation.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion features in the Service.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

We are not responsible for the conduct of any user of the Service, whether online or offline. We do not verify the accuracy of information provided by users.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HINT AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hint and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Hint operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the appropriate courts of that jurisdiction.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Hint regarding the use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
